1) How did you enjoy the film? What stood out for you?
Yes, I enjoyed the film becuse it got me to open my eyes and see that things like that happen in other countries. The part that stood out the most was when Avijit’s mom died he had a different attitude towards photography.
2) Did you learn anything new about photography, life, people? What?
Yes i learned somethingnew because before this movie I thought photography was a joke. I never knew that it was an actual career but i’ve seen there are people good at it. For instance the kids didn’t know what a camera was and they took good pictures.
3) How do you think the world needs to change?
How important is this?
The world needs to change because there are third world countries that are war torn and are suffering from hunger. The environment also needs to be changed for the better because global warming is happening. It is important because people are dying everyday and we don’t even know.
4) What are you willing to do TODAY to be a part
of that change?
I am willing to do anything to change the world for the better because it’s my world too. it doesn’t take one person to take action though we need others that are willing to change the world.
5) Do you know a good song/rap/poem with
good lyrics about change in the world?

important to you.
Why is this important to you?
Do they have a website?I picked children wish foundation because it gives wishes to girls and boys under eighteen with life threatening illnesses. It is a good fundraiser because it makes the kids feel happy even with their illnesses. Yes they do have a website it is http://www.childrenswish.org/.
7) What ideas do you have for media
arts projects that we could do individually
or as a class to help contribute to these
organizations that are important to us?We should have a bake sale or something that we can sell to raise money for the organizations.

a) What qualities of your magazine cover make it effective? (eg. What makes it eye catching?, What about it promotes curiosity?, How is it visually pleasing?, What makes it easy to understand?) The qualities of my magazine that make it effective are the background because it is colourful and eye catching, the two girls jumping because it shows that they are happy and the title because it stands out.
b) What was the order of hierarchy you were trying to achieve for the elements on your magazine cover? (About Heirarchy)
The order I was trying to achieve was the two models because they were the most important. Then it was the words because it played a big role in my magazine cover. Lastly, it was the background.
Fruit Bowl Questions
1. What combination of tools did you use to isolate the fruit in “fruit_combo.jpg” and where in the image did you use which tool?
The combinations of tools I used to isolate the fruit in “fruit_combo.jpg” were the wand and the magnetic lasso. First I used the wand and then to clean up the edges I used the magnetic lasso.
2. Of the methods you used to isolate the fruit in the 3 pictures. Which method did you find most effective in this case?
The most effective was the magnetic Lasso.
3. Experiment with the following:
After you make a selection in the menu and go to
a) Select > Modify > Expand
b) Select > Modify > Contract
c) Select > Feather
What do these do? Post a fourth image indicating that you know what feathering does.
a) When you expand the fruit bowl it makes the border thinner.
b) Contract makes the picture smaller and clearer.
c) Feathering fades out the picture.
Understanding Resolution
1) Will a 300 dpi image or a 72 dpi image be clearer when printed out at the same size? How come?
A 300 dpi image would look clearer because it has more dots and is more focused on. Also some of it would be cut off because it is printed out at the same size as the 72 dpi.
2) What would a picture created at 1 dpi look like?
A picture created at 1 dpi would basically look like nothing. It would be a dingy black colour since it has a little bit of dots.
